Help users take the
next useful action.

Connect each message to what the user needs to do next. Welcome them, guide the task, and add an explanation where the work gets difficult.

Onboard new users

Take new signups to their first result.

Start with an onboarding page that explains where to begin. Turn setup into a checklist, then launch a product tour from the task that needs a closer walkthrough.

Welcome page → Setup checklist → Guided task → First result
Product example: Let’s create your first report. Connect your data, choose what to track, and see your first result. Connect your data
Product example: Create your first report Connect your data Choose what to track Create a report
Product example: Step 1 of 2 Choose your data source. Connect the data you want to use in your first report. Next

Target action: First report created

Drive feature adoption

Take an update from announcement to use.

Show the update to the people it affects. Link the announcement to release notes or a tour of the new feature, then ask for feedback after they have used it.

Targeted announcement → Feature walkthrough → First use → Feedback
Product example: Saved views are here. Keep your filters. Pick up where you left off. Explore saved views
Product example: Product update Introducing saved views Save a set of filters and return to the same view whenever you need it. See how it works
Product example: Was this helpful? Tell us what needs a clearer explanation. Yes Not yet

Target action: First use of the feature. Ask for feedback after use.

Unblock complex setup

Help users finish the step they get stuck on.

Adapt the explanation to the user’s role. Add a hint beside a difficult setting, open a tour when they need more help, or use a video to explain the task.

Relevant explanation → Contextual hint → Guided setup → Completed task
Product example: Administrator Set who can access the project. Team member Ask an administrator for access.
Product example: Project access Only invited people Who can see this? Only people you invite can access this project.
Example video explanation inside a product: setting up project access and permissions.

Questions before
you get started?

Do we need a developer to use Flowtomate?

No. Add your project’s installation snippet through Google Tag Manager, then create and publish tours, checklists, and pop-ups. Your team can update content and page display rules in Flowtomate.

Can we use our own user data?

Yes. Pass user details such as role, plan, or onboarding status to Flowtomate to target guidance and personalize what users see. You can also send custom product events. These are optional additions; you can get started without them.

Can we connect different formats in one flow?

Yes. Start with an onboarding page, organize tasks in a checklist, and launch a tour for a step that needs explanation. Add a pop-up, video, or survey where it helps the user complete the task or share feedback.

Can we change the wording users see in our product?

Yes. Use text replacements to show different explanations to different audiences while keeping your interface layout in place.

Does Flowtomate replace changes to our product?

Use Flowtomate to explain a task and help users through it. Feedback and activity can also show your team where to investigate the underlying workflow and decide what to change in the product itself.

Where can we see pricing?
